Velda Lee McNitt

June 30, 1935 – July 11, 2021

On July 11, 2021, another Angel found her way to her heavenly home.

Velda Lee McNitt, 86, passed away peacefully. Velda was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 30, 1935 to Grace Byfield, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children; Larry Dulohery and wife Mary, Michael McNitt and wife Kathy, Steven McNitt, Phillip McNitt, and daughter Rebecca Wroughton.

Velda had a large family consisting of 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Velda started her career as an LPN and continued in her schooling to become an RN. She excelled in her career field, and went on to work in nursing homes. In her free time, Velda enjoyed going to church and studying the Bible. She enjoyed fellowship with her friends and learning more about Good, as well as teaching others about God. She enjoyed talking about her faith. Velda enjoyed going to seminars and learning more about God and his plan. Velda was the “Go-to” person when any of us needed advice or just an ear to listen.

Velda will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. God has gained a great asset to Haven.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, 11:00 am, at Calvary Community Church. 4400 N. 1st St, Lincoln, NE. A Lunch Reception will follow at church after the service.
