Rose Marie Nannen, age 77 of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Journey House at Tabitha surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 26, 1938 in David City, Nebraska to Carl and Emma (Kominek) Theewen. She was a graduate of Marietta High School in Butler County. Rose was an active member of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ for over 50 years. Her discipleship included, adoration hour, daily mass, Mary’s Mantle Group, Catholic Daughters St. Ann’s Circle, Catholic Social Services, R.C.I.A. sponsor to many, led the rosary and divine mercy chaplet weekly at The Lexington and The Legacy. She served those in need at Matt Talbot and St. Gianna Women’s Homes. She opened her home to many college exchange students and unwed mothers. God, family and friends were Rose’s passion in life. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, cards, praying, activities at her cabin, cooking, following family sports and activities, GBR! Rose is survived by her daughters, Rhonda and Chris Riha of Grand Island; Theresa and Robert Homan of Omaha; sons, Michael and Marrie Nannen of Lincoln; Joseph and Kathy Nannen of Sprague; John and Melissa Nannen of Little Rock, AR; Daehoon and Minhee Kim of Auburn, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Nannen; Elizabeth Nannen, Tyler Nannen all of Lincoln; Jacob Riha of Kansas City, MO; Janae (Mitch) Liberty of Plattsburg, MO; Kayla Jo (Ethan) Stutzman of St. Libory; Katherine (Nathan) Shanmugam; Ellen Homan; Samuel Homan all of Omaha; Joshua Nannen of Arnold, MO; Ronnie (Ashley) Skoda of Lincoln; Tyler Holman of CO; Hunter and Cooper Nannen; Summer Patton all of Little Rock, Ar; Kai and Elin Kim of Auburn, AL; great-grandchildren, Allie, Aiden Skoda; sister, Jean and Dave Wilson of Linwood; brother, Don and Nancy Theewen of David City. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Beverly Havlovic; granddaughter, Mikaela Nannen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Church, 3500 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary. One hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Cathedral of the Risen Christ. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach, St. Gianna Women’s Homes, or Cathedral of the Risen Christ Missionaries of Mercy.
