Marilyn Marie Eberly, 88, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Lakeview Retirement in Firth. Her sudden passing was assisted by the caring staff at Lakeview Living and hospice attendants. Marilyn Marie Beisner was born on November 6, 1929, to Wilbur Fred and Ida Mae Beisner in Pawnee City. Marilyn attended Doane University, studying English. She also met her beloved husband, Gerald Eberly, at Doane. Marilyn was a devoted mother and wife. She lived in many places with her family including Rosemead, California, Rapid City, South Dakota, St Louis, Minot, North Dakota, and Green Bay, Wisconsin. Marilyn was always a Nebraska girl at heart and moved to Lincoln with her husband Gerald in 2007. She loved living in Lincoln which had the added benefit of living close to her childhood friend, Millie. Marilyn held many jobs over the years, such as pre-school teacher in San Marino, California, and office assistant at Minot State University. She also volunteered in the gift shop at a Lincoln hospital for many years. She had many interests and passions. She enjoyed playing piano and singing with her pre-school students. She loved playing Scrabble, reading, and playing golf. She was a skilled letter writer and an avid sports fan. She liked using her computer and iPad for keeping in touch with her family and friends on Facebook. Marilyn lived at Clark Jeary Retirement Community in Lincoln during most of her final years. She developed many friendships with the residents and staff. Marilyn is survived by her children, Nancy Rojo of Templeton, California, Michelle Grupe of Port Townsend, Washington, Michael Eberly of Green Bay, Bill Eberly of Hemet, California, and David Eberly of Denver; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Jackie Neill of Cozad, John Beisner of Ames, Iowa, and Janice Peel of Indianapolis. Preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Eberly.
