Lawrence "Larry" R. Welander

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol Welander; his children Jayme Nicole (Kyle), Luke (Kayla), Katerina (Ron), Jaime Dawn (Erick), and Alexa; his sister Juanita (Terry) and brother Daniel; eleven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Katherine; sister, Lona; and nephew, Jon.

Larry started his early career building homes throughout the country. Later, he became a proud member of the American Welding Society (AWS) after graduating from SCC in Milford, NE where he received his degree in Nondestructive Testing. Shortly after, he earned his Certified Welding Inspector certification. With his qualifications he was able to travel all over the United States, working on multiple projects, including the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

Larry spent most of his spare time behind the handlebars of one of his Harley’s and loved sunglasses and brand new Harley shirts. If it was a Bar and Shield he needed it, or more like “I had to get it!”. Larry will always be remembered as a helping hand wherever he was able to help. He wanted the best for everyone around him.
