LaVada Kaufman, age 91, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. She was born in Campbell, Nebraska. Throughout her life she was an educator and adventurer, always looking for life’s next challenge. She was very proud of the work she did as the director of a business college/cosmetology school in Guam, retiring from there after her husband passed. She left her island paradise and spent her glory years in Las Vegas where she kept a very social lifestyle. Upon her son Scott’s retirement in 2021, she moved to Melbourne, Florida to be closer to him.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Erma L’Heureux, husband Robert Kaufman, brother-in-laws James Kaufman and Thomas Kaufman, sister-in-laws Ruby Kaufman and Leota L’Heureux, sister Lynda Hoffmann, mother-in-law Leone Kaufman, father-in-law Frederick Kaufman.
She is survived by her son Scott (Sabine) Kaufman of Melbourne, Florida, brother-in-laws Marv Hoffmann of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Frederick (Diane) Kaufman of Hays, Kansas, and brother Ronald A L’Heureux of Henderson, Las Vegas, and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 2 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.
