Kathleen E. Krueger

Kathleen Elizabeth Krueger (80) was born on June 1, 1940, to Henry Krueger and Ruth (Buls) Krueger, at their home in rural Firth, Nebraska. Also born to this union were Kathleen's brothers Richard (Sharon) Krueger, Lincoln, Arnold (Sherry) Krueger (deceased) Longview, TX, and sister Marilyn (Krueger) Price from Tyler, Texas.

Nephews Douglas Krueger, Lincoln, James (Jim) Krueger, Lincoln, Robert Slama, Peru, NE, David Slama, Pickrell, NE, and Jason Krueger (deceased). Nieces Elaine Slama, Tyler, TX, and Becky Steelman, Longview, TX.

Great-nephews Garret Krueger and Jay Whittenburg. Great nieces Shelby Krueger, Erin Whittenburg, Julie Slama, Emily (Slama) Ethington, and Melanie Slama.

Services are scheduled at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Chapel for May 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with the visitation held an hour preceding the service. Pastor Jack Atteberry, officiating.

Kathleen lived at home near Firth, NE, for 20-plus years. During that time, she was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church with her sister, Marilyn, on July 8, 1956. She moved to Lincoln with her mother in 1963. She lived with her mother until 1965 when she moved to Beatrice, NE, to the Martin Luther Home for disabled adults. Sometime later, she moved to a group home sponsored by the Martin Luther Home. Still later, she moved to a house under the jurisdiction of the Martin Lutheran Home, where she and a roommate lived for a time.

Kathleen's sister, Marilyn, was living in Longview, TX, by this time and eventually opened her home for Kathleen to live with her. This continued for a short time before Kathleen was homesick for Nebraska. She moved to Hebron, NE, to the Blue Valley Care Center for disabled adults where she lived for several years until that care center closed. Kathleen's next move was to the Blue Valley Nursing Home. She received excellent care at both Blue Valley locations.

Kathleen's final move was to live with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 17, 2021. Kathleen never forgot her Lutheran roots. She lived a faithful life until she joined her father and mother, as well as the other relatives who passed on before her. Rest in peace, Kathleen.
