(preacher’s kid) Jon began his life of travel at a young age. He was four years old when his family moved to Parkston, SD where he was later confirmed on June 9, 1968 at Salem Lutheran Church. In January 1970 the family moved to Eustis, NE where Jon graduated from Eustis High School in 1971. It was at Eustis High where he met the love of his life, Carolyn Weissert. Jon retired from the Marine Corps in 1996 and the couple moved to Lincoln where Jon began his career with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. He continued his journeys with this new job as he traveled around the state facilitating classes to local and area Emergency Management personnel.
