February 27, 2022
Jeanne Winter passed on February 27, 2022 with her dear sister at her side, after courageously battling cancer. Jeanne graduated from Malcolm High School in 1979 where she enjoyed playing the flute and being a majorette in marching band. She had a love for all sorts of animals, but especially horses; she grew up on an acreage where she was able to ride and care for the family’s three horses.
She also had a deep passion for and love of Native Americans and was blessed with an amazing talent to make the most beautiful beadwork that was once displayed in a Lincoln art gallery. Another outlet for her creativity was Balloon Expressions, a business shared with her father whereby she designed and made balloon arrangements for weddings, birthdays, and other similar events.
Jeanne is survived by her beloved children Danielle Winter and Ethan Leighton, who have fond memories of holidays with Jeanne and the rest of the family. She is also survived by her sister Susan (Bradley) Neverve; brother Stephen Winter; niece Meagan (Peter) Petrek; and nephews Dylan and Gavin Neverve. She was preceded in death by her loving parents John and Mary Jean Winter, and her brother John Winter.
Jeanne had a love for the mountains and enjoyed many family vacations to Colorado where wonderful memories were made. Jeanne’s family is planning a trip to Colorado to spread her ashes where she always longed to go and be free.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
