Gail E. Venne age 76, of Lincoln died Saturday January 7, 2017. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jean Venne and their daughter, April, of Lincoln. Sisters Norrine Rockwell, of Kearney, NE. Louise Fink, of Raymond MT. Preceded in death by her husband, David, parents, Sisters Ardith Huffman, Shirley Korth, Brothers Richard and Lloyd. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 12, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner Street, Lincoln with Dr. Luke Schnake officiating. Interment, Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: Noon – 7 pm Wednesday, January 11, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln: one hour before services at the church. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, to American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left a lincolnfh.com. Born February 26, 1940 in Crosby, North Dakota to Lewis and Ida (Mann) Pulvermacher. Lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Retired RN. Gail was raised on a farm with her parents in Alkabo, ND. She shared many happy memories of her youth growing up in a close-knit family with her four sisters and two brothers. Gail graduated Valedictorian, Alkabo High School 1958. Leaving her home to attend the Sisters of St. Francis nursing school, Minot, ND. She graduated an R.N. in 1961, beginning a nursing career that would span 40 years. It was while working in Minot she met David Venne, and they were married August 10, 1968. They shared many adventures, living in Oahu Hawaii, Philadelphia, PA and finally settling in Lincoln, NE where they had a son, Chris, February 28, 1978. Despite the distance, Gail remained close with her Mother, Sisters and Brothers, enjoying many happy visits over the years. Gail loved caring for plants, and flowers, always taking great pride in her garden. She also loved baking and spent many happy hours preparing treats for family and friends. Chris Married Jean Fischer September 2, 2005. And on July 27, 2010, April Marie Venne was born. Gail immediately embraced her new role as “Nana” as April became the center of her world, and the light of her life. Gail and April loved reading stories, watching cartoons, and having lunch together. Whether as a daughter, sibling, wife, mother, nana or nurse, Gail was happiest when caring for and being of service to others. She will be very missed.
