Evelyn M. Spilker, 92 of Lincoln went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2020. She was born January 23, 1928 in Martell, Nebraska to Henry and JoHannah (Hinricks) Luers. She became a school teacher at the age of 17. She married Lee Spilker on February 27th, 1949 and immediately became a farmer’s wife and homemaker. During that time, she also worked as a bookkeeper in the Beatrice schools for over 20 years. After raising her children, she later worked at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital as activity director for 19 years. After retirement, they moved to Lincoln where she worked in the deli at Super Saver for 5 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Ladies Aid, Sunday school teacher, enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband, riding her bike. She loved spending time with all of her grandkids, great grandkids, and even her great great-granddaughter.
Survived by daughter Sherry (Rick) Jewell, son Scott Spilker all of Lincoln; grandchildren Eric Jewell, Amy Hicks, and Sara Hazen; great-grandchildren Paul Jr., Michael, Caleb, Matthew, Alyssa, Dylan, Jason, Amber, Nathan, and Ryan; great great-granddaughter Emma.
Proceeded in death by her parents, husband Lee, brothers John and Henry.
