Elvera Leopold February 18, 1924 to March 12, 2017 Elvera was born in Holstein, Nebraska on February 18th, 1924 to Elwin and Amanda Nienhueser. Elvera went to be with the Lord on March 12th, 2017 Elvera was baptized on March 9th, 1924 and was confirmed March 21st, 1937 in Zion Lutheran Church – Wanda, NE. She graduated from Holstein High School in 1941 and then worked at Adams County Bank in Kenesaw, NE. She met her husband, LaVaughn Leopold, in Kenesaw and they were married October 19th, 1946. They moved to Denver, CO and had three children while there. After the kids were grown, Elvera worked in the Westminster, CO school system, and later as a seamstress in Wray, CO. They decided to retire and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1995. She always enjoyed the bible studies and fellowship at Christ Lutheran Church. Elvera enjoyed her retirement while living at Clark Jeary. Elvera was preceded in death by her husband, LaVaughn, of 67 years, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by son Gary Leopold and wife Debbie of Denver, CO, daughter Janet LaFollette and husband Chuck of Lincoln, NE, son Dave Leopold and wife April of Fort Worth, TX, 6 grand-children and 10 great grand-children. Elvera will be missed by all who knew her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life verse was Romans 8: 38-39, For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran School in Lincoln, NE or The Lutheran Hour. Service will be held at 11 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
