Donald L. Cook

Donald L. Cook, age 76 passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. Born on April 4, 1948 in Humboldt, NE to Boyd and Millie (Michaelis) Cook. Growing up on a farm South of Auburn before moving into town. In 1954 the family moved to Lincoln where Don lived the rest of his life. Don graduated from Lincoln High School and attended college at Milford Tech. On December 21st, 1969 he married Karen Johnson celebrating 54 years together. To their union two children were born, Cory and Wendy. Don and Karen enjoyed camping around Lincoln adding more and more family members to their campsite each year. Don loved being a family man, providing for everything his family needed. As the kids grew up Don surrounded the family with the things he loved, cars and animals. Don had everything from horses to rabbits to peacocks, but most importantly cats. His lifelong love of cars led to opening his own body shop, becoming co-owner of C&C Body Shop before retiring. Don loved cars, having several at the house and they were spotless. He would take Karen's and the kids cars through the car wash then over to the shop to get polished and shined. After retiring Don found joy in baking pies. He make homemade apple pies with a perfect homemade crust and lattice top. Don is preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Millie. He is survived by his wife Karen; children Cory Cook and Wendy Martin. Grandchildren; Dante Martin, Wyatt Martin and Aubrielle Cook. A funeral service for Donald will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512.
