Cynthia was born on January 8, 1950 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Paul and Lois Hanson. She was the younger sister of Larry Hanson. Cynthia grew up and graduated from Holdrege High School in 1968. Cynthia chose to further her education at the Bryan School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in July 1971.
In 1974, Cynthia married Michael Burgess and had two children from this union-Benjamin and Lisa. Cynthia and Michael’s union did not last and they were divorced. In 1983, Cynthia married Terry McCune but divorced in 2002.
Cynthia worked as a Registered Nurse for approximately 30 years. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln Nebraska and was a proud alumni of the Bryan School of Nursing.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents and brother.
She is survived by her children, Shanda Beattie-Saenz, loving grandchildren Chloe (Austin) Walker, Caleb (Fatima) McCune, Johnny McCune, extended family members Tanya Hanson, Madeline Hanson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins.
