Bonnie Familia was born to Elmer Joshua Moore and Jane Smith Moore on Aug 26, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Familia, her husband of 58 years. She passed peacefully Lincoln, California.
She married Bill, originally from Queens, New York on Aug 30, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The newlyweds settled in Van Nuys California to begin their married life. Bill was a gifted General Contractor and Bonnie was a great support in the business handling contracts, finances, and other paperwork as well as raising their five sons, who could be quite a handful.
In addition to her five sons, she is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Bonnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions. She especially enjoyed serving in the Young Women organization (which is no surprise since she only had five boys). She had many get-togethers with the Young Women and Young Men at her home in Granada Hills, California, as they literally wore holes in the carpet dancing the night away. Bonnie, although not officially part of the church choirs still loved music and memorized most of the Hymn book (including the page number of the hymn) and sang them as she cooked and did housework.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her sisters Wilma Croshaw and Clea Farr and her brothers Elmer, Wally, Rex, Lester and Dorain.
