Sarah Jane Parsons, 25 of Uniopolis went home to be with the Lord at 4:45 a.m. Monday morning, May 20, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Lima, Ohio on July 3, 1987 to Thomas and Mary L. (Desenberg) Kanode and they survive. Her father, Thomas resides with her stepmom, Susan in Dublin, Ohio and her mother, Mary survives with her husband Claire Grismore. On February 16, 2008, she married Randall Lee Parsons, III and he survives her.
Sarah was a wonderful mother to her children, Lauren Catherine Kanode, Randall Lee Parsons, IV and Lyndsay Jane Parsons all at home. Her children were the loves of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Rachel Grismore of Ottawa, Heidi C. (Joseph) Slover of Hilliard, Arienne (Darrell) Chamblin of Columbus, Deidre (Frank) Cash of Lima; her in-laws, Marsha & Randall Lee Parsons, II of Cairo, a brother-in-law Scott (Holly) Parsons of Wapakoneta, a sister-in-law Stephanie N. Parsons of Cairo and her maternal grandmother Mary C. Desenberg of Elida. She also leaves many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who adore her and will miss her tremendously. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Howell and Margaret Kanode and her maternal grandfather, Don Desenberg.
Sarah was very proud of the fact that she was a stay at home mom, referring to herself as a ‘domestic engineer’. She was a 2005 graduate of Columbus Grove High School, and was an active member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Kenny Waldroup will officiate. Burial will follow in Cairo East Cemetery.
Visitation for Sarah and her family will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. And again 1 hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Thursday.
