Raymond E. Kraft, 93 of rural Elida passed away 3:42 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Van Crest of Delphos. He was born on November 4, 1921 to Joseph Howard and Lillie (Leffel) Kraft and they preceded him in death. On January 23, 1954, he married Velma E. (Suever) Kraft and she passed away on October 30, 2008.
Raymond is survived by his children, Nancy L. (Doug) Thompson of Lima, Tamara E. (Mike) Kanitz of Elida, Ruth E. (Craig) Bowers of Moulton, Twila E. (Jeff) Hobler of Moulton, Raymond E. Kraft II of Lima and Julie E. (John) Vargo of Pickerington, Ohio. He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, a sister, Koneta Northup of Belleview, Florida, and a sister-in-law, Mary Donna Richardson of Sidney.
Raymond retired from Westinghouse, having been employed with them for over 47 years. He was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the Wapakoneta American Legion Post 330, and was a 1939 graduate of Spencerville High School, he was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a member of the Lima Area Bowling Association, and a longtime member of Tamarac Golf Club.
Mr. Kraft was predeceased by his parents, his wonderful wife, a daughter, Maria “Elana” Kraft, his sisters, Adryce (Tom) Kandis, Maxine (Ed) Bartlett, and a brother-in-law, Al Northup.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 18, 2015 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery, where graveside military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta American Legion. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 17 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
