Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Banks, 70, of Lima, died at 11:55 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Lima Manor. She was born Jan. 1, 1941, in Lima, to Maurice C. and Irma E. (Newsome) Haithcox who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Banks was a retired bus driver for the City of Lima. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are five children: Steven (Lisa) Horton of Lima, Gary (Pam) Broles of Atlanta, GA, Christopher (Thielitha) Banks, Kimberly (Ezekiel) Campbell both of Lima and Jamilla Banks of Cincinnati; a brother: Robert D. (Barbara) Haithcox of Lima; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Maurice Banks and a brother, Maurice Irving Haithcox.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
