David L. Parks, 81, of Lima, died at 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 in Hospice at Mercy-St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born Oct. 4, 1936 in Lima, to Floyd D. and Hazel (Dudgeon) Parks who preceded him in death. On Jan. 6, 1984, he married Judy Kay Barnett who survives.
Also surviving are his children: David (Debbie) Parks, Jr. of Magnolia, TX and Darrell (Cheri) Parks of Evans, GA; his stepchildren: Tammy Treece and Kenny Barnett both of Lima; his brother, John Parks of Estero, FL, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The following siblings preceded him in death: Juanita King, Dora Clingerman, Betty Rhinock, Dale Parks and Phillip Parks.
Mr. Parks was the owner and president of Mello-Crème, Inc., since 1959. He was a former member of Trinity Wesleyan Church where he was on the church board, drove the church bus, was a Sunday School teacher and a Youth Group leader. He was also a member of Lima Community Church.
His visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home, with Revs. Doug Boquist and Glenn Rader officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
