Alvin had been employed as a repairman at Ford Motor Company and most recently he had been a landscaper for the area. Alvin was a 1975 graduate of Lima Senior High School where he played football for a year, he was a member of the high school choir, the wrestling team, he was a HiHo Scholarship recipient, and he had been the Senior student speaker at the Lima Senior Scholarship Banquet. Mr. Lawson was a member of the UAW, an avid Bengals fan, Red’s fan, Buckeyes Fan; he loved to tinker and could fix about anything; he was also a guitarist and master harmonica player.
He is survived by his siblings, James Charles (Janice) Lawson, Jr. of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Catherine Ruth Lawson-Esters or Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. He is also survived by a niece, LaQuita Dione Esters and a nephew, James Charles Lawson, III, and his aunt, Doris “Dot” Lawson of Lima.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward officiating.
