Robin Hope Pearce, 76 of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024. Robin was born in Columbus, Georgia, to Eloise Robinson and Walter Preston Hope, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Columbus High School and graduated in 1966.
After high school Robin attended Auburn University where she met her husband of over fifty years,Tom Pearce. Robin became a member of Chi Omega sorority and graduated in 1970 with a B.S. in education. She also obtained a master’s degree in education from Georgia State University in1976.
The role Robin relished most of all, though, was as a mother and doting grandmother. Robin was the very proud mom of Fran Hinsdale (Jack) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Hope Witters (Matt) of Tallahassee, Florida. She was a devoted and mother to her four beautiful granddaughters: Bates Hinsdale, Anna-Pearce Hinsdale, Pearce Witters, and Ellison Witters.
Robin began a career of more than three decades teaching seventh grade mathematics in the Cobb County school system. Renowned for her interest in, and consummate dedication to, her students, she taught at Mabry Middle School and McCleskey Middle School while also being in high demand as a math tutor.
Robin was known for her kindness to others and never met a stranger, and everyone who knew her loved her completely. Robin was an active member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and took great joy in volunteering and helping others within the church community.
Robin is also survived by her siblings, Kathy Lansberry (Reg) of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Bill Hope (Julie), niece, Hanna Hope, and nephew, Daniel Hope of Atlanta, Georgia. And niece, Kit Pearce of Seattle, Washington, nephews, Robertson Pearce of Bremerton, Washington and Tom Pearce of Birmingham, Alabama.
We hope you will join us for a Celebration of her Life on Thursday, November 21, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA. A reception will follow in the Magnolia Room.
