

Katharine Elizabeth Gordon Deleot , 94, was born in Somers Point, N.J. on June 24, 1930 and passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025 in Hoschton, GA. She was the daughter of Katharine Ida Wenderoth and Alfred John Gordon. Her parents divorced in 1934 and she moved with her mom to live with her grandparents and aunt in Glenside, PA outside Philadelphia.
She was an achiever as a child and was awarded the coveted American Legion Award 9th graduation. Even when she went to Camp Netimus five summers in a row, she was awarded Best Camper All Around and Team Captain 4 years. She won a scholarship to Drexel University, Philadelphia and majored in Retail Management.
After graduating from Drexel School of Business Administration she moved to New York City where she worked for several retailers but ended up working as a buyer in Women's wear for Sears Roebuck. It was at Sears where she met her husband Robert W. Deleot whom she married in 1955. Katharine and Bob later moved to Lawrenceville, NJ and had a daughter Kit in 1959. Bob was later transferred to Atlanta in 1960 and Katharine became a stay at home mom to raise Kit.
In Atlanta Katharine became involved in the Dekalb Federation of Garden Clubs and was the president of the 5000 member organization in 1965 -1966. In 1970 her husband Bob passed away and she felt it was important to place her focus on her daughter. She gave up her involvement with the Federation of Garden clubs and became involved in the Girl Scouts, even becoming troop leader.
Katharine pursued many areas of spiritual and personal growth. She was very engaged in both taking and teaching Yoga classes. She became very involved with the Wellsprings Program in CA which combined classical music, movement and the arts. She was trained in alignments through music which offered deep body massage using classical music. She was quite talented in creating beautiful Mandalas. Her studies brought her in touch with many spiritual leaders including Arnold Patent and was coordinator for many of his workshops in Atlanta. She studied A Course in Miracles and adapted these principles to her own life.
Katharine moved to The Village of Deaton Creek in December 2008, where she made many dear friends in this next chapter of her life. She was involved in Spiritual Groups, Bridge Clubs, loved to travel and also conducted several seminars for the residents on The Art of Feng Shui, in which she was quite well versed. It was her unique combination of clarity and wisdom coupled with lightness and laughter that endeared her to so many.
She is survived by her daughter Kit Deleot in Georgia, and her niece and nephews in North Carolina, Andrea Deleot McLean, Thomas L. Deleot and Charles F Deleot, III.
A private family ceremony will be held to inter her ashes. A Celebration of Life will be held on a date to be determined.
