James Alvin Brooks

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 11th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 3210 Mt. Zion Church Road, Mebane, NC. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will have a time of fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall.

James was the son of the late James Franklin and Lou Hannah Horner Brooks. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Brooks, and his sister, Jenny Cagle.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Peggy Glasgow Brooks; daughters, April Black (Jeremy) and Becky Brooks; son, Ray Brooks (Crystal); grandchildren, Gray Brooks, Ty Kimrey (Caitlyn), Alexus Hobbs (Cyle), Jordan Brooks, Cooper Black, and Beau Black; great-grandchildren, Hudson Brooks, Lacey Kimrey, Caroline Hobbs, and Jameson Hobbs; sisters, Helen Ellington and Wanda Davis; and brother, Jeff Brooks (Twink).
