He was a Korean War veteran and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii where he and Ila renewed their vows on their 25th wedding anniversary. He retired from Learning Environments after 40+ years of dedicated service. He loved to sing all the time, read the Bible and pray every morning after he had his "hot coffee". He truly loved the Lord. His "girls" always knew how much he loved them and he never let them forget.
He was the son of the late Oliver Cornelius and Nonie Arrington Flinchum and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruemell Brown, Roxie Wright, and Lillian Clapp; and brother, Oliver Cornelius "O.C." Flinchum.
Fred is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ila Lilly Flinchum. He was a loving father to his step-daughter, Patricia Campbell; and an adoring PaPaw to his granddaughter, Brandy Faulkner.
