Elsie Mae McNeill Hester

Elsie was born in Randolph County on June 26, 1925 to the late John Monroe McNeill and Ethel Herndon McNeill. She attended secretarial school at Women's College in Greensboro and worked as a bookkeeper for Smith Motor Company in Liberty, N.C and later for Smith Tractor Company. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rez Hester and by their son Robert.

She is survived by her son Pat Hester and his wife Dana of Greensboro; daughter Susan Peters and her husband Richard of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren Jessica and Peyton Hester, and John and Alan Peters; and by her sister, Betty Phillips of Durham.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 31 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home.
