Speedy was a US Army, Korean War Veteran, who was known for his love and care for children. He worked for Euliss Oil Company for many years and served on the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley-Snow Camp Road, Siler City, NC, with David Hobson officiating; burial will follow in the meeting cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Raleigh Benjamin and Rebecca Inman Arrington and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Lankford and Faye Fox and four brothers, Hassel Arrington, Gaston Arrington, Raymond Arrington and R.B. Arrington, Jr.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Mary Campbell Arrington; one sister, Helene Edwards; and brother-in-law, Frank Fox.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Whitestone Care and Wellness Center, Kindred Hospital and Kindred Skilled Nursing Center.
