Pamela Michelle Hoppins, 41, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Pam was born January 17, 1980 to Ricky and Cindy (Purdum) Bell in Holton, KS. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1998, and then went on to attend Maplewoods Community College for accounting. In the summer of 2001, she met Tommy Hoppins who became the love of her life. The couple married July 19, 2014 in the Secret Garden of Independence. Pam was the president of her local PTO. During this time, she found her true passion, to help transform her community’s younger generation, and made the choice to become a teacher. In her free time, she enjoyed watching movies, at home and at the local drive-in. She could also be found supporting her children’s school events like ballgames, dance, school plays, gymnastics, or just relaxing by the pool. Pam will always be remembered as someone who gave selflessly to others.
She is preceded in death by her Grandpa Roy, Grandma Sue, Grandpa Swartz, Grandma Dottie, Brother-in-law Joshua Hoppins, and nephew Jared Peery.
Pam is survived by her husband and soulmate of 20 years, four children; Skyler, Kaden, Allyssa, and Caitlin, and her parents Ricky (Karen) Bell of Cameron, MO and Cindy (Tom) Summerlin of Tulsa, OK. Also surviving are four brothers; Keith (Shine) Bell of Tulsa, OK, Shawn (Kelsey) Summerlin of Broken Arrow, OK, Justin (Angela) Bell of Tarkio, MO, and Shane (Marlo) Kittle of Liberty, MO. Four sisters; Heather Horn of Cameron, MO, Jamie (Travis) Kosteno of Olathe, KS, Tia (Brad) Vajgrt of Tulsa, OK, Stacy (Brad) Vogel of Lineville, IA, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
