Mike “The Taminator” Tam , 59, of Liberty, MO, passed away April 11, 2022. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held from 1:00-4:00pm, Saturday, April 23rd at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, April 24th at Twiggs Funeral Home, 219 East Main Street, Box 156, Panora, IA 50216. Burial will be in Yale, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, 2316 E Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64132.
Mike was born September 25, 1962 in Belton, MO to David and Glennis Tam. He graduated from YJB in Jamaica, Iowa, then enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mike earned his Bachelors in Broadcasting from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, IA. He worked in a variety of radio stations in Iowa and Missouri before settling at 98.9 for over twenty years. Mike was known as The Taminator and was the morning weekend DJ for many years. He married Patricia Ferris on June 14, 2014. Mike enjoyed wood-working and making plaques. He was a huge fan of Mountain Dew, ketchup, Star Trek, and Sci-Fi.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glennis Tam; and his grandparents.
Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patti” Tam of the home; his sons, E-6 TSgt Jeff Tam (Jayme) of Biloxi, MS, and E-5 SSG James David “J.D.” Tam (Jill) of Odessa, MO; his step-children, Kayla Andell (Lance) of Holt, MO, Hunter Ferris (Allison) of Liberty, MO, Samantha Ferris of KCMO, and Desirea Ferris of Liberty, MO; three grandchildren, Oliver Michael Tam of Odessa, and Kelleigh and Joseph Andell of Holt, MO; his father, David Tam; his siblings, Glenda Tam of Bondurant, IA, and Wesley Tam (Christine) of Ankeny, IA; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
