Darrin Ray Collett, 53, of Connersville died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Fayette Regional Health System.
Darrin was born January 7, 1965 to Zenas Sr. and Phyllis Collett. He was a happy and affectionate little boy. Darrin loved the outdoors and feeling the sun and wind on his skin; especially appreciating many trips to the park and riding on his oldest brother’s bicycle. He was an explorer and looked forward to digging for candies and treasures in pockets. Darrin grew into a man who knew what he liked and will be remembered for his smile and gentle touch.
Darrin is survived by his parents, Zenas, Sr. and Phyllis Collett of Liberty; his siblings and their spouses: Demetra Dodd of Corbin, Kentucky; Zenas Collett, Jr. and Elizabeth of Woodstock, Georgia; Chris Collett and Shawnna of Liberty; Dustin Collett and Diane of Liberty; Shannon Miles and Raymond of Corbin, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
Darrin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Cornell and Lottie Collett; paternal grandparents: Frank and Edith Collett; his brother-in-law: David Dodd.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, Indiana. Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday from noon until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to Union County Schools In Memory of Darrin Ray Collett.
