LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Sarah Emilee Beatty, 24, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210, or American Cancer Society, Attn: Relay for life in Rockingham County, NC, in honor of her sister, Amber B. Berger, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
Sarah was born October 18, 1986 in Eden, NC and passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011. She was a daughter of Lori Lynn Grigsby Holmgreen of Lexington and Charles Alan Beatty of Eden, NC. Sarah graduated from Lexington High School in 2005. Her passion for music led her to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where she graduated with a BS in vocal performance and music business management in 2009. Sarah was employed with Vector Management in Nashville, TN and was to start a new job with Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville as an assistant music minister. She was a volunteer for Relay for Life in Rockingham County, NC. and she volunteered with Gilda’s club in Nashville to help families affected by cancer. She attended St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.
Sarah is survived by her parents; sisters, Claire Holmgreen of Lexington and Amber B. Berger (Kevin) of Madison, NC; brother, Jacob Holmgreen of Lexington; grandparents, Larry and Wanda Grigsby of Eden, NC and Charles L. and Margaret Beatty of Degraff, OH; nephew, Jackson Berger; niece, Emily Berger; special friend, Kyle Simmons; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
