Sandra Broome Watts, a beacon of light and joy, passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 69 in Lancaster, S.C. Born on April 2, 1956, Sandra grew into an outgoing and vibrant individual, known for her larger-than-life personality and her ability to make friends with everyone she met.
Sandra graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and furthered her education at Clemson University followed by the University of South Carolina. She dedicated her career to education, touching many lives as a Middle School Science Teacher. Sandra's passion for science education was recognized when she was named South Carolina Science Teacher of the Year. Additionally, she contributed to the NASA Science Partnership, further demonstrating her commitment to inspiring young minds in the field of science.
Beyond her professional life, Sandra was deeply involved in her community and her church, the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg. She also cherished her hobbies, which included riding horses and cheering for Clemson football, showcasing her spirited and enthusiastic nature.
Sandra was a beloved figure not only in her professional and community circles but also within her family. She is survived by her husband, Stephen (Paul) Watts; her son, Stephen Watts; and her daughter, Bessie Lovinggood. She was preceded in death by her father, Ned Broome.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 1:00 pm at Caughman Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel to honor Sandra's life and legacy, the family will recieve friends after the service.
