LEXINGTON - Robert R. Vance, 86, of Lexington, S.C passed away Friday August 25, 2017. He was born April 2, 1931 in Glace, West Va., son of the late Clarence and Edna Vance.
Bob retired from the Army after 27 years of service as a Command Sergeant Major. His various tours included Alaska, France, Germany, and combat veteran of Korea and Vietnam.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce “Jo” Vance; daughter, Alison V. Bass; son, William F. Harrell Sr. (Patsy); four grandchildren, Alex Bass, Will and Jay Harrell, Missy Womack and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Robert R. Vance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with military interment at 12:00 noon at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC 29229.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of Tri County.
