Robert William Rolin (Bill), aged 82, of Irmo, South Carolina, passed peacefully on November 11, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, on December 15, 1941, he was the cherished son of Bernard and Bea Rolin. Bill's life was a testament to duty, devotion, and quiet strength.
Bill proudly dedicated 30 years of his life to serving in the United States Secret Service, upholding a commitment to his country with integrity and honor. He carried his role with a quiet dignity, forever etched in the memories of those who worked alongside him and those he protected.
At home, Bill was a loving husband to his wife of 60 years, Barbara, who stood by his side through every chapter. Together they built a legacy of family, love, and resilience. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Bob and Mike, imparting his values of humility and hard work. His pride for his family was immeasurable, and his love extended deeply to his eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with an eagerly anticipated eighth great-grandchild on the way. To each of them, he was more than a family member—he was a guiding light and a source of strength.
A private family service will be held at a later date, allowing loved ones a moment to reflect on the life and legacy of a man who gave so much. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Bill's memory are invited to consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at ALZ.org, an organization close to the family’s heart.
Bill's kindness, dedication, and quiet resolve will be profoundly missed, but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
