Dick was born in Burgoon, Ohio on December 5, 1930, to the late Walter and Irene Pratt. He graduated from Fremont Ross High School, Fremont, Ohio in 1949, joined the US Air Force in 1950, spending 30 months in Japan during the Korean War. Dick and his family moved to Orangeburg, SC in 1962 where he was employed by Utica Tool Company for 30 years. He served as a manufacturing supervisor and was the first Journeyman Tool Maker at Utica.
Dick is survived by his children, Paula Anderson (David) of Prosperity, SC, Pam Humprhies (Alan) of Little Mountain, SC, and Richie Pratt (Tonya) of St. Matthews, SC; step-daughters, Rhonda Williamson of Orangeburg, SC and Susan Jordan of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friend and companion, Nancy Rogers.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Pratt, and granddaughter, English Greene.
A graveside service will be held on December 14, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
