Michael David Eleazer was born October 22, 1957 as the second son of William Moore and Martha Owens Nunamaker Eleazer and passed away Friday, December 13, 2024.
He spent 40 years with Honeywell Building Services, as a Senior Systems Specialist and loved working on computers and fire alarm systems. He earned a degree from Midlands Technical College in Electronics Engineering. Sadly he contracted his cancer while servicing a contract, as a Honeywell corporate contracted Technician in the early years; he also worked part time for his family's business The Plant Barn.
He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and met his wife, of 42 1/2 years, Susan Pooley Eleazer there, they married in 1982 and had two sons: David Bryan Eleazer and Michael Brannon Eleazer & wife. He was the proud Father in Law of Katherine McKittrick Eleazer and the devoted and loving Opa to two grandsons Malcolm and Tillman, who brought much joy to his days and filled them with lots of love. He was a member of Radius Church of Lexington and was working on a move to their Long's Pond Campus.
Mike was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 26 in Lexington for 22 years and earned his Woodbadge Training Award as a Fox. He enjoyed working with the scouts and watching them grow in leadership and was the proud father of two Eagle Scouts.
He enjoyed his small homestead farm raising Chickens, Turkeys and Bees. He also enjoyed gardening until he was unable to. He liked camping with his family and working with the Dutch Fork Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society.
Mike was predeceased by his parents and his In Laws, Malcolm and Doris Pooley. He and his wife did almost everything together and were blessed by their shared activities, especially traveling and serving others. He is survived by his brothers, William, Phillip and Tim Eleazer, his two sons, daughter in law, grandsons and numerous cousins.
I want to especially thank our sons who served their Dad in these last hard days of his cancer journey and the love our grandsons shared with us over this past month visiting their Opa. We are truly blessed. He and his wife fought his cancer with all that God gave them; Pray we find real answers to a disease that kills so many.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2024 at Caughman- Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
