Margaret Hutto Noles, 85, of Lexington, SC, passed away peacefully at home with family members by her side early Sunday evening, August 6, 2023. She was born September 30, 1937, in Brunswick, Georgia, a daughter of Alfonso R. Hutto and Sallie M. Hutto. She was part of a family of two brothers.
As a young lady, she moved to Columbia, SC and attended the old Columbia Hospital Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse, where she began her career in 1958. She later became an Operating Room Nurse at (the now) Lexington Medical Center (LMC) where she served until retiring to her home in Lexington. Also, briefly serving at a local Doctor’s Office as well. Thereafter, volunteering at Lexington Medical Center (LMC) and briefly at Lexington Baptist Church (LBC) on various assigned duties of service.
She was the widow of her loving husband, Larry Gene Noles Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Noles of Lexington, Lisa Mills (Mark) of Isle of Palms, and son, Gene Noles of Lexington; grandchildren, Alston Stokes, Emily Mills, and Erica Mills; great-grandchildren, Hampton Stokes of Lexington, Jack Keith, Piper Keith, Wyatt Keith, and Eloise Keith of North Carolina. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert Hutto and Charles Hutto.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM, August 17, 2023 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Lexington Baptist Church – Main Auditorium. She was a donor of the USC School of Medicine – Gift of Body Program. At her request, her remains will be dispersed by the family, at a date yet to be determined, off the Coast of the Isle of Palms.
