Larry Dean Brown

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Dean Brown at the age of 64 on November 22, 2024. He was born on April 26, 1960, and spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and his many passions. A loving father, grandfather, son, and brother, Dean's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dean was an outdoorsman that was an avid lover of fishing and camping. He also had a passion for cooking, gardening, and, of course, cheering on the Gamecocks! His hobbies brought him great joy and he often shared them with those he loved. As a skilled floor installation specialist for over 30 years, Dean took great pride in his work and his craftsmanship brought beauty to many homes over the years.

Out of all his talents, Dean was most passionate about his love for art. He poured his heart into painting and drawing, creating pieces that touched the hearts of all who saw them. His remarkable talent didn't go unnoticed, earning him the Best in Show award at the South Carolina State Fair, where his work stood out among the finest artists in the state.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jerri Brown; his children, Amber Gunn (Steven), Chris Brown (Christina) and Brandi Bailey; and his cherished grandchildren, Gavin and Garrett Gunn. He is also survived by his siblings, Doug Brown (Via), and DeeDee Spears (Barry) and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Brown.

Dean’s family takes comfort in knowing his memory will continue through his children, grandchildren, his art, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.

A service will be held at SonRise Baptist Church on Monday, November 25th to honor Dean's life. Visitation will be from 12pm-1pm and the service will be from 1pm-2pm, with the committal following immediately after in the church cemetery.
