LEXINGTON – Funeral service for Kathryn Elizabeth Sanders, 95, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Red Bank Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Sanders was born April 14, 1919 in Lexington County, SC and passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Henry Richard Day and Ophelia Shealy Day. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and was a nurse. Mrs. Sanders was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class and retired from Columbia College infirmary and the Episcopal Retirement Home at Still Hopes.
Surviving are her children, K. W. Simons, Jr., Rose Marie Williams, Brenda and Jim Rorie, John F. Sanders and Linda, Matthew Sanders, Anita Faye and Wayne Dickert, Lucy and Ron Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husbands, Knowlton W. Simons and John Sanders; 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
