George was born on July 29th, 1942 in Bulloch County, Georgia to the late Jasper Lee Hollingsworth and late Sara Lou Hollingsworth. He served his country in the United States Army. George moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work in the dry cleaning franchise industry. Desiring to become an owner, he partnered with Oscar Glaze of Cayce SC at a store later becoming Kleen Kare Cleaners. George dearly appreciated each and every employee, customer and friend throughout his 55 years in Lexington County. George also had a passion for real estate development and acquisition.
George was known for his quick-witted spirit and visionary leadership. His achievements were many, but his greatest love was for his family and life he built with them. He enjoyed living on Lake Murray, fishing, playing golf, being a member of the Lexington Country Club and the Lakels.
George is preceded in death by his brothers, Stothard and Daniel Hollingsworth; sister, Sara Kitchens; son-in-law, Billy Level.
George’s proudest accomplishments are his children. Surviving: son, Kirk Hollingsworth which he cherished every moment they spent time together which included pulling for theUSC Gamecocks! A daughter, Miranda Levell, forever “Deddy’s girl”!
Surviving are five sisters; Henrietta Martin, Chris Bradley (Cecil), Grace Stallings, Agnes Hendrix (Tony) and Anna Stills; many loving nieces and nephews. Also survived by his beloved poodle Sandie and grand poodles Zoelee, Queenie & Jessie-James; grand cat Jasper.

A visitation for George will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina 29072. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29072.
