A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Lexington, SC. The inurnment will follow in the Columbarium behind the church.
Ed was born June 30, 1927 in Glen Lyon, PA, son of the late Walter Leon Mack and Theresa Razmus Mack. He served in the Navy during World War II on a destroyer.
Ed began his career teaching high school English at Ramsey High School in Ramsey, NJ and moved onto Scott Foresman as a Regional Sales Manager. He retired to Wilmington, NC where he lived for 20 years before relocating to Lexington, SC to be closer to family.
He was known for his “Ed-isms” such as, “Didn’t I pick you a beautiful mother?” and “Use all you want, but don’t waste any.”
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who adored his family. His hobbies included golf, trivia, watching his grandsons play high school football, and bragging about his grandchildren.
Other than his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Mack Celmer; niece, Janet Celmer and great nephew, Nicholas Johnston.
Ed is survived by the love of his life and wife of 70 years, Dolores Marie Zavishlocke Mack; children, Sherry Biehler (Jim), James Mack (Robin), Maryellen Farrar (Dan), Thomas Mack (Patti); grandchildren, Lindsay Gregory (Brian), Kelsey Biehler, Brandon Mack, Ashton Farrar, Chandler Mack, Robert “RJ” Mack and numerous nieces and nephews.
