Donald R Greer

LEXINGTON – A memorial service for Donald Raphael Greer, 74, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Greer was born November 11, 1938 in Spartanburg, SC and passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He was a son of the late Raphael Greer and Estelle Caldwell. Mr. Greer was a very involved member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. He loved to play golf. Mr. Greer was a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor degree in Textile Engineering and a graduate of Georgia Tech with a masters degree in Textile Engineering. He served his country 22 years in the United States Army. After retirement he worked for the Federal Government for 10 years in Research and Development.

Surviving are his wife, Madeleine Greer; sons, Michael Greer, Stephen Greer and daughter-in-law, Tracy; grandchildren, Connor, Nathan and Madeleine; sister, Diane Babb; nieces and nephews and his favorite companion a dog, Gibbs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, 5503 Sunset Blvd. Lexington, SC 29072.
