He was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Gilbert, SC. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1972 and worked with his dad at C.J. Taylor Grocery, which was a community cornerstone for the rural Lexington/Gilbert area for decades. When his dad retired, the business continued as C. David Taylor Store. He later worked at John Harland Company and most recently for Enterprise Cars.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Ben Compton; a niece, Andrea Compton Krick (Kevin) and a nephew, Brian Compton. He was a loving great uncle to Ryan, Caleb, Avery and Macy Krick and West and Grace Compton. Also special friends and neighbors, Mary and Richard Smith and Jimmy and Diane Lybrand and many dear cousins and friends.
David was a sweet, generous and joyful guy who never met a stranger. He loved his Lord, Shiloh Church, family and friends, and his Clemson Tigers fiercely! David’s loving spirit will be missed by many!
In lieu of flowers, memorials to honor David may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1000 Spring Hill Road, Gilbert, SC 29054.
