Carl John Snyder III

LEXINGTON – Carl John Snyder, III, 59, lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Mr. Snyder was born on April 6, 1953 in Evansville, IN. He was the only child of Virginia and Carl John Snyder, II. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.

John’s work with the Austin Company as a Chief Field Engineer brought him to SC where he fell in love and decided to stay. He was an avid golfer. John was an avid fan of the The University of South Carolina where he graduated with a Masters in Public Administration and Master of Arts in Teaching. He taught in Saluda and Aiken County Schools before becoming the Executive Director of the Saluda County Council on Aging. John is survived by the love of his life, JoDee Douda; canine companion, Jazmine; daughters, Angie and Alexis Snyder; grandchildren, Zane, Evan, Mia, and Ruby of IN.

A celebration of his life will be held on his birthday, at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Ponderosa Country Club, Leesville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lexington Medical Center, Cancer Care Fund, 2720 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169 or to your favorite charity.
