Brian was born in Lexington, SC on December 21, 1987 to Ben Staples and Mary Ann Staples. He graduated from Lexington High School in 2006 and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2010 and his graduate degree, a Master’s in Business Administration from Coastal Carolina University in 2012. Brian worked as a Credit Analyst at Helena Agri-Enterprises and attended Mosaic Church in Lexington.
Brian is survived by his spouse, Brittany; their two children, Bradley and Brennen; his parents, Ben Staples of Lexington, SC and Mary Ann Staples of North Myrtle Beach, SC and his brother, Oneal Staples (Jennifer) of Lexington, SC.
Brian loved many things in life, but none more than his two sons. He would regularly be found driving the backhoe, tractor, razor or golf cart around his house and Dogwood Creek Park, but only on a rare occurrence would he be caught without Brennen on his lap and Bradley by his side. Brian also had a love for the water, whether it be on Lake Murray or out in the ocean. It was that love that motivated him to obtain his Captain’s license from the US Coast Guard.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Lexington Medical Center for their care of Brian in his final days and the true compassion shown towards his family. They would also like to thank his employer, Helena Agri-Enterprises, for sticking by and supporting Brian during his various health battles.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Radius Church, 300 West Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be sent to #LukeStrong, a 3-year-old little boy in need of a heart transplant. Luke is the son of Karolina and Spencer Fossell and friends of Brian. Donations can be made through Venmo at @Luke-Fossell or sent to 153 Edgerton Lane, Lexington, SC 29072.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.caughmanlexington.com for the Staples family.
