PORTLAND- Robert “Bob” Joseph Harvey, husband of Marcia A. Harvey of Granite Farm Hill Road, Durham passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He was born October 22, 1945, in Lewiston, Maine to Ovide and Adrienne Harvey. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1964 and served in the Navy for four years.
After discharge, he worked at Pioneer Plastics in Auburn, Maine and then the Lisbon Fire and Police Departments. He spent the next 30 years working for UPS, starting as a Christmas helper and then working as a driver and then moved into management. To know Bob is to know that he had to always be busy, so after he “retired” from UPS, he worked for years with Baker Chimney Cleaning.
Anyone who knew Bob knew his love for his family and all things outdoors – fishing, clamming, hunting, golfing, and gardening. He was an active member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Typically, if Bob was out doing one of those things, Ray was right there with him. He loved to go upta camp any time of the year and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Harv was a jokester and was always ready with the best “worst” dad jokes. The relationship he had with his twin brother is like no other – the constant back and forth about who was better looking or who was right will be remembered by everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Marcia, four children Matthew Bedell of Lisbon, Michelle Harvey Gustwick and husband Christopher of Savannah, GA, Stephanie Baker of Richmond, and Jennifer Harvey David and husband Derek of Lisbon Falls; seven grandchildren Joshua, Michaela, Kyle, Nicholas, Cali, Emma and Cooper and one great grandchild Benjamin; one sister Constance Blanchard of Alburquerque, New Mexico and his twin brother, Raymond and his wife Lorette of Lisbon along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and Mother Superior, Connie Doboga. The family would like to thank the multiple area first responders and the staff of Maine Medical Center for their response, care and support.
The family invites you to a time of visitation on Thursday, November 30th from 4:00-7:00pm at Pinette, Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 1st at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Parish, 67 Frost Hill Ave, Lisbon Falls.
