November 7, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of the late Vivian M. (Howe) Riley, who
died in 2004.
He was born in Lewiston, ME a son of the late Nelson E. & Geraldine (Monk) Riley Sr. He grew up between parts of Maine and Massachusetts. He returned to Maine after being discharged from the US Marine Corp. After that he returned home to work with his father in Maine. Nelson had an interest in hunting and fishing. He also loved to tinker around in his back yard on various machines.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry Howe and two sons Nelson E. Riley III of Priest Lake, ID and Richard Riley and his wife Kasie of Sabattus and his six grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Johnny, Isaac, Riley and Wyatt. He also leaves behind Velma Riley, Howard Riley and Bruce Riley and his wife Jo Ann as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Brenda, Sherry, Pauline, and Richard Riley.
