He then joined the Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam until 1970. Upon coming home he worked for BIW then went on to become a carpenter by trade. Everyone who knew Jim knows he was an avid reader, filling his home with books, plants and his many collages. Jims was a strong advocate and supporter of A.A.
Jim is survived by his sister Anna Constantine and husband Tom; daughter Sarah Champagne and fiancé Tom Burt; daughter Laura Murphy; granddaughters MacKenzie, Morgan and Addison Champagne; and Aubrey and Olivia Firczak; as well as his x-wife and dear friend Claire Murphy.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on March 9th at 11:00am at East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave, Auburn, ME 04210. A Committal service and military honors will be conducted on May 9th at 12:00pm at Maine Veterans Cemetery, 162 Mt.Vernon Rd, Augusta ME.
Jim was very proud of his military services and asked that donations in his name be made to Veterans Inc, 69 Grove St, Worcester MA 01605.
