William E. Runner, Jr.

William E. Runner, Jr. "Butch" went to be with his Lord on August 9, 2015 at Chandler Hall. He was 71. Formerly of Levittown, he had been a resident of Lancaster for the past 8 years. Butch proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He spent his career working at the former Reedman Auto Center, Langhorne, for 37 years. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed watching all types of sporting events on TV. In his earlier years he participated in various local bowling leagues. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Beloved husband of 41 years to the late, Eileen (Haney) Runner, William is the devoted and loving father of Kimberly Runner (late Michael Jones) of Levittown, Karen (Henry) Mayberry of Levittown and William E. (Christy) Runner, III of Lancaster. He is the devoted grandfather of Carissa, Thomas, Grace, Kayla, Alyson and Sara. Butch was also the brother of Steve (Rose), Lorraine (Carl) Lang, Gail Kelley and Sharon Runner, the brother-in-law of Lucy Runner, Diane (Richard) Bell, Karen (Wayne) Cubler and Susan Haney and the uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Butch was predeceased by his brothers Craig Runner and Curt Runner. He loved his "grand-pets" Winston, Oakley, Rex and Kali. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown PA 19056 where his funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm. At the request of "Butch's" family, please wear your favorite Philadelphia sportswear. Graveside interment will be held Friday at 10 am at Emilie United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19056. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Chandler Hall Health Services, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940. .
