With deep sadness, the family of William Robert Miller, age 85, announces that he passed away on November 19, 2024 at Sunrise of Lower Makefield. He was a long time resident of the Indian Creek section of Levittown, PA. He succumbed to overwhelming grief and various ailments that plagued him since the loss of his wife Jeanette in the summer of 2023. Bills' peaceful last breath was with oldest daughter Adrienne and bonus daughter Stephanie at his bedside. Our hearts are broken with the loss of our patriarch, our dad and poppy.
Bill was born in Canonsburg, PA to parents, William Miller and Virginia (Spillman) Miller. He graduated from Hickory High School in Washington County, PA in 1956. Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1957. A disciplined athlete in high school, Bill was recruited to play on the Marines Devil Dog football team, with an undefeated team championship season for the Quantico based team in 1958. Due to a knee injury, Bill left the service as a Staff Sergeant (E6) and continued his education. Obtaining technical certification in HVAC and eventually becoming a CFC instructor, he went on to establish a career as a Field Service Engineer, working for various Philadelphia companies and eventually 30 plus years at Hull Corporation. His education and talent was much in demand, travelling in North America and all over the world; i.e., China, Japan, Korea, Venezuela, India and Kenya. He never complained of the rigors of a road warrior, as he called himself, always looking forward to new food, cultures and customs. He was the first I knew to eat sushi! Always returning with a charming gift for his loved ones.
Growing up in a small community, Bill understood community and had lifelong friendships, beginning with his high school alma mater, class reunions, attending many. He was with Esco Institute for HVAC and a member of other professional organizations. He was a passionate member of the Central Bucks Marine Corps Detachment #636, local president of the Bucks County Devil Dogs Pound #188 and a dedicated member attending the National Marine Corps conventions. He visited and was an American Legion member in Fallsington, supporting and volunteering in Veterans programs for many years where he had many friends. He also owned a boat and belonged to the Anchor Yacht Club. He was an avid Eagle's fan and season pass holder for many years at Veterans Stadium and the Linc.
Bill loved attending parties and family events, was very generous with his time and home to family and others. As years went on, Bill and Jeanette travelled for leisure to every US state, Caribbean Islands, Mediterranean Islands, Europe, South America and more. No grass grew under their feet. Always lending a hand, if he said he would do something, you could count on it! He enjoyed all the fine things in life. Good food, good laughs, good love, all shared with the love of his life for 43 years, his "Jae." Bill leaves behind a blended family whom he loved with his whole heart as we adored him. Truly, he was a "Good Guy."
Bill was preceded in death by, William and Virginia Miller (parents), Jeanette Hedrick Miller (beloved wife), Margaret Werner Miller (former spouse), Wannetta Ferritto (sister), Sherri Ferritto, (niece), Ted Formicola (bonus son).
