William H. "Pete" Loftus, Jr. William H. "Pete" Loftus, Jr. died on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Silver Lake Nursing Home in Bristol. He was 87. Born in Carbondale, PA, Mr. Loftus was an original Levittown homeowner in the Indian Creek Section and was a founding member of Immaculate Conception Parish, He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker Council, #4215. He was an employee of US Steel Fairless Works from 1953 until 1987. He was a grievance man and Union Counselor for Local 4889 United Steel Workers of America. Mr. Loftus was an active member and former officer of the Oxford Valley Seniors and SOAR. He was a former board member of the United Way of Bucks County. He was also a former member of the Bristol Township Sewer Authority, and was a democratic committeeman in Bristol Township for nearly 50 years. He was very active in his community and union. Beloved husband of the late Anna Mae (Molinaro), Mr. Loftus was the loving father of Mary Alice Roberts of Bristol, Ann T. Loftus (Eileen Talone) of Philadelphia and was the devoted grandfather of Sean Roberts of Bristol. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Harriet Loftus of Levittown and Claire Loftus of Carbondale and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Friedlander, Rosemary Van Antwerp, John Loftus, James Loftus and Henry Loftus. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 9:00 until 10:45 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Levittown. Interment will be held in Carbondale, PA on Friday. In lieu of flowers, mass cards would be appreciated or donations to United Way of Bucks County, 413 Hood Blvd. Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
