Rose Marie Amoroso died surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Langhorne Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was 84. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Liberty (Macaluso) and Francis Polito, she was a long time resident of Levittown. Mrs. Amoroso was a Vice President for Stark Transport Inc. of New York for 20 plus years until her retirement in 1978. She had a passion for music and especially loved to play her Baby Grand Piano. She volunteered weekly at Langhorne Gardens to play the piano for the residents. Mrs. Amoroso enjoyed cooking, reading, watching movies and had a fabulous sense of humor. Her greatest enjoyment was spending quality time with her family. Beloved wife of the late Pasquale, Mrs. Amoroso was the loving mother of Teresa Gajeway (Charles), Anne Golub (Wayne), Salvatore Amoroso (Deborah) and Lisa McIsaac (Thomas); the devoted grandmother of Jocelyn, Justin, Bryan, Seth, Christopher, Timothy, Jillian, Sarah, Ian and Patrick and the very proud great grandmother of Joshua. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at Langhorne Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their kindness and compassionate care. Additional thanks to Terry, RN and staff of Odyssey Hospice for their support for Rose Marie and her family during her illness. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, 9:00 until 10:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
